QC collects P1.6 billion in 22 days

The Quezon City government has collected more than P1.6 billion in revenue during the first 22 days of this year.
City Treasurer Dr. Victor Endriga reported to Mayor Feliciano Belmonte Jr. that the city has collected a total of P1,649,738,634.64 in tax payments during the first 22 days of the year.
Endriga said the amount represents an increase of P294,722,388.90 over last years P1,359,016,321 gross collection.
Belmonte thanked the city treasurer for the consistent rise in the citys revenues, expressing optimism the collection will reach the P2 billion mark when the Jan. 31 deadline for the extended tax payments expires.
Endriga lauded the 15-member special task force he created to help in the citys tax collection efforts for "doing an excellent job." The special task force has collected a total of P264.5 million during the period.
He also thanked the citys various income-generating offices, which include the Business Permit and Licensing Office, Liquor Licensing and Regulatory Board, City Accounting Office, City Registry Office, City Budget Office, Cultural and Tourism Affairs Office, City Health Department, Market Administration and Development Department, Department of Public Order and Safety, and Tricycle Regulation Unit, among others.
Business taxes, the citys major source of income, registered a gross collection of P994 million; real property tax, P111.2 million; other regulatory fees, P100.4 million; transfer tax, more than P11 million; amusement tax, P5.2 million; community tax certificate, P35.7 million; other income P35.7 million; and special accounts, P7.4 million.
