Caloocan City Mayor Enrico "Recom" Echiverri announced yesterday that the local government is now accepting nominations for this year’s Gawad Recom.

According to Echiverri, the Gawad Recom is an acronym which stands for "Recognizing Exemplary Contribution of Outstanding Men and Women in Caloocan."

It is an award given to model citizens who have excelled in their respective fields and have made a significant contribution to the city.

Those who wish to make a nomination may secure forms from the following offices depending on the award category: commerce under the Business Permits and Licensing Office for outstanding taxpayer (individual and corporations) and businessman; law and order under the Caloocan City police for outstanding officer (commissioned and non-commissioned), outstanding sub-station and police community precinct; fire protection under the Caloocan Bureau of Fire Protection for outstanding firefighter; sports under the Sports Development Services for outstanding athletes; home and family under the Division of City Schools for outstanding family and outstanding citizen; justice under the City Legal Office for outstanding judge; health under the Caloocan Health Department for outstanding midwife, nurse, dentist, and doctor; education under the Division of City School for outstanding teacher, student, department head, school principal (elementary and secondary) and outstanding district supervisor.
