QC police busts fake driver’s license gang

-
Quezon City policemen arrested yesterday two members of a syndicate involved in the manufacturing of fake local and international driver’s licenses during an entrapment operation at a restaurant along Timog St. in Quezon City.

Senior Superintendent Magtanggol Gatdula, Quezon City Police District director, said two suspects identified as Dennis Datus of Pinyahan St. and Jerry Haya from Batasan Hills were arrested.

Gatdula said a police team led by inspector Angelo Nicolas also seized several fake driver’s licenses, duplicating machine and fake Land Transportation Office application forms during follow-up operations.

The suspects allegedly offered their services for the speedy processing of driver’s license for P1,000 without submitting the necessary requirements and undergoing any test.

The suspects will be charge with violation of PD 1730, the law declaring syndicate printing, manufacture, distribution possession of or use of fake official LTO forms documents and plates.

Gatdula urged the public not to transact with fixers when applying for a driver’s license or they will end up getting a fake license. — Perseus Echeminada
