The suspect proved elusive after escaping from a number of police dragnets laid out, according to Inspector Victor Miparanum, acting chief of the Manila Police District (MPD)s homicide section.
Follow-up operatives have staked out several gay bars frequented by the suspect but returned empty handed.
Witnesses identified a certain Jimboy Legaspi, reportedly a callboy, as the companion of the two victims shortly before they were found dead in their condominium unit in Cavite Street in Tondo.
Senior Police Officer 3 Danilo Vidad identified the victims as Angie Binuya, 30, and Genlem de Torres, 28. Their mangled bodies were found lying on the bed in the bedroom. Vidad said the victims heads were almost severed from their necks. Their right ring fingers were also cut off.
Crime scene investigators found the room in complete disarray and blood spatters were found all over the place. Some of the victims valuables and personal belongings were also missing.
Vidad said the victims and another GRO Teresa Estrera, together with the latters boyfriend and an alleged callboy identified as Jimboy Legaspi, went on a night out at a KTV bar along Blumentritt last Wednesday. At around 4 a.m., the group separated, but the two victims invited Jimboy to their condominium unit and the three had another drink.
Witnesses said they saw the suspect hurriedly leaving the crime scene at around 6 a.m. A relative of one of the victims visited later that day and found the bodies when nobody answered the door.
Police said the suspect, believed to be a drug user, is also wanted for the killing of a homosexual in Quezon City last year.
