Sketches of Dodot attackers out

- Non Alquitran -
Police released sketches of two men suspected of involvement in the Dec. 12 bomb attack on Pasig City Rep. Robert "Dodot" Jaworski Jr. yesterday based on an eyewitness account.

Superintendent Edgardo Wycoco, head of the eastern Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG), said a man has come forward claiming that he overheard the two men talking about the incident.

"He’s a credible witness and I think he’s telling the truth," said Wycoco, a member of a police task force investigating the attack.

According to Wycoco, the witness was waiting for a ride home along Commonwealth Avenue in Quezon City on the day of the attack when he overheard one of the suspects mentioning Jaworski’s name in his cellphone conversation.

"How was Congressman Dudut’s vehicle? Is he alive or dead?" Wycoco said, quoting the conversation as related by the witness. "We’re dead. We’re going to get it," the suspect said after apparently being told that Jaworski was still alive.

Jaworski and his brother Ryan were on their way home when a bomb exploded under their Toyota Innova. They were unscathed.

On Dec. 18, the witness summed up the courage and told Jaworski what he knew. "This is a breakthrough in our investigation of the bombing of Jaworski’s car," Wycoco said.

The two men confronted the witness when they saw him looking at them but let him go shortly.

Police estimated one of the suspects to be 28 to 32 years old, with a height of five feet and six inches. The other is around 33 years old, also with a height of five feet and six inches.
