Two persons were killed while another was seriously wounded when they were shot during a rumble among drunks last Friday night in Tondo, Manila.
Senior Police Officer 2 Dave Tuazon said the fatalities were Almario Gasdon, 40, and Alfredo Punzalan Jr., 18, while Rolando Ocampo, 18, was shot in the right thigh and is now being treated at the Jose Reyes Memorial Medical Center.
Witnesses said Punzalan and at least nine other men were drinking liquor along Pritil St. in Tondo around 8 p.m. when an angry Gasdon arrived armed with a handgun and fired at the group.
Sketchy reports showed that during the drinking session a quarrel broke out and Punzalan suddenly appeared with a homemade shotgun and shot Gasdon while Ocampo was hit by stray bullets.
Probers said witnesses identified a certain "Estong," "Boboy" and "Rolan" as the group that beat up and shot Punzalan.
The rumble and the killings was an offshoot of a raging gang war in Pritil, Tondo. Nestor Etolle
