A bright Christmas awaits the more than 30,000 senior citizens of Pasig City who have registered as bona fide members of barangay senior citizens associations as Mayor Vicente Eusebio has ordered the release of a cash gift of P1,000 on Dec. 13 for the elderly.
The cash gift is one of the benefits of the Eusebio administration aimed at giving importance to elderly citizens who have played a role in the citys development.
Conceptualized by Sangguniang Panglungsod Committee on Social Services, chaired by Councilor Bobby Eusebio, the citys program for its senior citizens also provides free medical treatment at the Pasig City General Hospital.
Likewise, they also get to watch movies for free at the Robinsons Movie World and Ever Gotesco cinemas in the city. This is the second year that the city government has given a cash gift to its senior citizens.
"To some people, P1,000 may be just a small amount of money but to our senior citizens, its more than the cash, it is the concern and the service that we provide that matters most to them," Mayor Eusebio said.
