A man said to be a relative of Sen. Jamby Madrigal was arrested the other night in Mandaluyong City for illegal possession of several high-powered firearms, ammunition and explosives.
Armed with a warrant, police seized rifles, handguns, explosives, assorted ammunition clips, a rifle grenade and other military hardware from Gustav Warns in a search of his Mandaluyong condominium.
Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) chief Director Jesus Verzosa said Warns failed to present any documents or license for the firearms and other weapons.
Warns claimed the guns and other weapons were just part of his hobby.
Versoza said police conducted a surveillance following information from a tipster. A search was made after police confirmed that Warns was keeping guns illegally. Warns and two others, Jesus Ora and Jamie Brojan, face charges of illegal possession of firearms.
