Taguig cop kills City Hall employee

Operatives of the Taguig City police arrested one of their own for killing a 36-year-old government employee last Sunday night.
Police Officer 2 Allan de la Peña was arrested for shooting Roy Madara, a resident of Zone 6, Barangay Signal Village. The victim, who works at the Taguig City Hall under the General Services Office (GSO), sustained three gunshot wounds in different parts of the body.
The suspect, who belongs to the Taguig police Mobile Patrol Unit, was taken into custody after the incident.
De la Peña surrendered to Taguig police chief Superintendent Alfred Corpus.
Initial reports revealed the incident happened at around 10:30 p.m. near a sari-sari store along Laurel street near the victims residence.
The police officer, for still unknown reasons, approached Madara, got into an argument and challenged him to a fistfight.
Moments later, De la Peña pulled out his 9mm pistol and repeatedly shot the victim at close range. Michael Punongbayan
