PNP chief Director General Oscar Calderon maintained that PNP officials to be promoted have good track records. He also discouraged police officials trying to seek political backing because promotions are all based on performance and credentials.
Scheduled to retireme is the PNP Directorate for Investigation and Detection Management chief Director Marcelo Ele Jr., who turns 56 on Oct. 24
Ele also heads the PNPs Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operation Task Force.
Sources from the powerful Senior Officers Placement and Promotions Board (SOPPB) revealed that Ele is set to be replaced Chief Superintendent Edgardo Doromal, who is the current chief of the PNP Police Security and Protection Office (PSPO).
Chief Superintendent Arturo Cacdac, chief of the PNP Firearms and Explosives Office, would be promoted as chief of the PNP Crime Laboratory Service.
Senior Superintendent Florencio Caccam Jr., who is the senior executive assistant of PNP chief Calderon, would assume Cacdacs post while Senior Superintendent Bing Damian would replace Caccam as the PNP chiefs senior aide.
Senior Superintendent Romeo Hilomen, deputy chief for PNP Region 5 office, will replace Doromal at the PSPO. Hilomen would be replaced by Chief Superintendent Ireneo Manois at the PNP Region 5 Office.
Chief Superintendent Napoleon Cachuela would replace Chief Superintendent Delfino Genio, who is set to retire on Oct. 28 as chief of the PNP Region 4B -Mimaropa (Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon and Palawan).
Senior Superintendent Orlando Pestano is being groomed to replace Chief Superintendent Jose Gutierrez, who will retire on Nov. 4, as chief of the PNP Finance Service.
Chief Superintendent George Piano, who is assigned at the PNP Directorate for Comptrollership, would be named deputy chief of the PNP Directorate for Logistics vice Chief Superintendent Prudencio Regis.
Regis would be assigned as deputy chief for the Directorate for Logistics.
Earlier, Deputy Director General Avelino Razon Jr., PNP deputy chief for administration, said the SOPPB has yet to finalize the list of officers to replace retired officers Chief Superintendent Alfredo de Vera, chief of the PNP Region 1 Office and Chief Superintendent Prospero Noble, chief of the PNP Region 4A Office.
At present, the post vacated by De Vera and Noble are being occupied by officers-in-charge Chief Superintenden. Nicanor Casaclang for Region 1 and Senior Superintendent Abner Cabalquinto, for Region 4A.
According to Razon, De Vera, who retired last Sept. 20, would be replaced by Northern Police District director Chief Superintendent Leopoldo Bataoil while Noble would be replaced by Quezon City Police District director Chief Superintendent Nicasio Radovan.
Radovan would be replaced by his deputy, Senior Superintendent Magtanggol Gatdula, while the NPD would be occupied by Senior Superintendent Ricardo Padilla, current chief of the Southern Police District (SPD).
The SPD post would be given to Senior Superintendent Roberto "Boysie" Rosales, who was earlier groomed to replace retired Chief Superintendent Pedro Bulaong at the MPD. Cecille Suerte Felipe
