MPD nabs 2 drug suspects in Binondo

- Nestor Etolle -
Anti-drug operatives of the Manila Police District (MPD) have arrested two suspected drug peddlers in Binondo as part of an intensified campaign against illegal drugs.

First to fall in a buy-bust operation was Chinese national Richard Chua, 21, also known as "Ji Cai Chua," of Nueva street in Ongpin, Binondo.

Seized from the suspect were two plastic sachets of shabu and marked money.

District Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operations Task Group chief Superintendent Florencio Ortilla said Chua had been tagged as the supplier of shabu in various cities of Metro Manila and nearby provinces.

In another operation also in Binondo, police apprehended Arnel Sacdalan, also known as "Aga," 36, of Aniban in Bacoor, Cavite.

Recovered from the suspect’s possession were a caliber .22 pistol, a blue bag which contained 13 plastic sachets of shabu worth at least P250,000 and the marked money.

Ortilla said Sacdalan was No. 6 in their order of battle.

Cavite was the suspect’s base of operation.

Charges of violation of the anti-drugs law were filed against the two suspects, who are now detained at the DAID’s holding cell.
