A graduating high school student was beaten to death yesterday by a group of young men in front of his classmates in Pasig City.
Police said a frat war or jealousy might have sparked the killing of Alvin Llego, 16, a resident of Barangay Rosario.
Llego sustained head and face injuries and died while undergoing treatment at the Pasig City General Hospital.
The Pasig City police are hunting down two of Llegos attackers, identified as Meldin Lucero, 18; and a certain Junjun.
Senior Inspector Lorenzo Trajano, head of the Criminal Investigation Division (CID) of the Pasig City police, said Llego was last seen alive in the company of classmates in front of the house of a certain Beth Esposo along Blue Grass St., Andrea Subdivision in Barangay Rosario at around 10 p.m.
While he and his classmates were chatting, several young men, including Lucero and Junjun, reportedly approached the group and confronted Llego.
After an exchange of harsh words, Lucero and Junjuns group allegedly attacked Llego while ignoring the pleas of his classmates not to harm him. He was allegedly hit in the face by a hard object.
When Llego fell to the ground unconscious, the suspects reportedly escaped but local residents were able to positively identify the two as among Llegos attackers. Non Alquitran
