Factory loses P.4 M to robbers

-
Six still unidentified men, armed with high-caliber guns on three motorcycles, barged into a plastic bag-making factory and ran away with P400,000 in cash and valuables, including P100,000 in payroll money, last Tuesday in Valenzuela City, authorities said yesterday.

Superintendent Billy Beltran, city police chief, identified the victim as Mike Luakian Lee, 28, single, representative for the Star Bag Corp. on T. Santiago street, Veinte Reales, Valenzuela City.

Luakian was divested of his laptop computer, watch and wallet and the payroll money and other valuables. The suspects fled with the loot on board three Enduro or motocross-type motorcycles.

Company guard Joffrey Villanueva was disarmed and divested of two service firearms, caliber .38 revolvers licensed to the High Profile Security Agency Inc.

Records showed the suspects pulled off the heist at around 4:45 p.m. last Tuesday brandishing caliber .45 revolvers and Uzi machine pistols.

Police are now running after the suspects in a follow-up operation. – Jerry Botial
