Two men were arrested by the police after stealing a motorcycle using toy guns from an employee of the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) in Marikina last Friday.
Arrested by the police were suspects Remo Toleco, 35, and Jeffrey Carsino, 28, both Marikina residents.
Police said the two suspects flagged down the victim, Ruben Ignacio, an employee of the MMDA, who was on board his motorcycle, at around 2:30 a.m. at the Midtown Subdivision, in Barangay San Roque, Marikina.
One of the suspects pulled out a toy gun, which looked real, and forced the victim to get off his motorcycle.
The suspects fled using the motorcycle.
However, the vehicle ran out of gas just a few meters after they sped off.
The two suspects were arrested by responding policemen before they can leave the subdivision.
