2 nabbed in Pasig drug raid

Two suspected drug dealers were arrested by elements of the police Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operations Task Force (AIDSOTF) during a raid at a subdivision in Pasig City yesterday.

AIDSOTF commander Director Marcelo Ele Jr. said suspects Al Dadayan and Moliluda Saide yielded three plastic sachets containing white powder believed to be shabu.

The evidence was taken to the crime laboratory of the Philippine National Police (PNP) for examination.

Ele said Dadayan and Saide were earlier named by an informant as the source of illegal drugs in Pasig City and nearby towns and cities.

Ele said that after more than a month of surveillance operations by his men, they applied for a search warrant from Executive Judge Romeo Zamora of the Quezon City Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 94.

Armed with a warrant, AIDSOTF operatives raided the townhouse occupied by Dadayan and Saide on Birmingham street in Metropolis Village II, Barangay Sta. Lucia at about 8:30 a.m.

Dadayan and Saide did not resist arrest.

The AIDSOTF raiders recovered the evidence inside one of the rooms of the Pasig townhouse.

An AIDSOTF agent said the two suspects have refused to cooperate in their bid to determine their source of illegal drugs.

"We are still conducting follow-up operations on the case," the agent said.

Both Dadayan and Saide are currently detained at the AIDSOTF office inside Camp Crame pending the filing of proper charges against them. — Non Alquitran
