Wanted for hit-and-run

-
Police are looking for a man who fled after his car smashed into another that had stopped for a red light in Parañaque City Sunday night.

The man was driving a red car that looked like a 1990 model Toyota Corolla with license plates PRP 877, according to a formal complaint filed by the victim, STAR executive editor Ana Marie T. Pamintuan.

Pamintuan had stopped for a red light directly behind a white car on the inner lane of the east-bound section of Sucat Road in Evacom when the red car smashed into the victim’s vehicle.

As the victim got out of the vehicle to inspect the damage, the other driver backed out his car, pulled over briefly beside the victim’s car, then sped away. However, Pamintuan saw that the hit-and-run driver had a companion who looked like a woman on the front passenger seat.

The hood of the red car was crumpled. Pamintuan was able to take down the plate number of the car as it sped away.

A check with the Land Transportation Office showed that PRP 877 is registered under the name of a certain Eric G. Mijares, and gave his home address at Block 4, Lot 7 Veraville, M.Alvarez street, Talon, Las Pinas, Metro Manila.

Pamintuan immediately filed the criminal information of hit-and-run against the suspect before the Traffic Management Group of the Philippine National Police headed by Director Erol Pan.
