Pasig honors top taxpayers

-
In recognition of the contribution of investors, the city government of Pasig conferred awards to several companies for being the top taxpayers in fiscal year 2005.

Pasig City Mayor Vicente Eusebio also commended the 433rd Pasig Day executive committee, headed by his wife, former Mayor Soledad Eusebio, for acknowledging the companies that have been part of the city’s pursuit of progress.

Earlier, committee chairman Councilor Jose Tatco Jr. said extensive evaluation and accounting showed that the top taxpayers were First Gas Power Corp. (P34,826,573.51), Jollibee Foods Corp. (26,320.640.16), San Miguel Mills Inc. (P3,09,083.06), FGP Corp. (tax paid: P17,412, 804.52), First Philippine Holdings Corp. (P16,638,884.36), Diethelm Philippines Inc. (P15,061,612.65), Manila North Tollways Corp. (P8,999,834.11), Suzuki Phils. Inc. (P13,285.116.28), San Miguel Food Company Inc. (P11,184,452.47), Professional Services Inc., The Medical City (P7,385,124.58) and Lunar Steel Corp.(P5,875,290.46).

Council Social Services chairman Councilor Bobby Eusebio said the city has been and will always be thankful to all investors that have supported the local government.

"We are truly grateful not just to the awardees, but all the companies that have been actively supporting the city because more than financial investment, they are the blood line for massive employment of our residents on top of being part of nation building," the mayor said.

During the awarding ceremony, Eusebio assured all the companies that he will continue to institute changes that would inspire investors to work as a team with the local government in building a city that is safe and friendly to businesses.
