2 hurt as fire razes paint warehouse

Two people were hurt in a fire that razed a warehouse in Muntinlupa City yesterday.
The Muntinlupa Fire Department said Jose Peter Rios and Jose Espana Nueva suffered minor burns while trying to escape the blaze at a paint storage facility and a furniture shop.
Investigators said damage to property was P5 million.
The fire started at 11:14 a.m. at Panting Booth 3 of Paint Plus Corp.s two-storey warehouse located at the Teparuel Compound in Barangay Putatan.
Senior Fire Officer 2 Conrado Luarca said the blaze reached an adjacent warehouse.
"Our fire alarm reached Task Force Bravo. Fourteen firetrucks were fielded by the Bureau of Fire Protection," he said.
Luarca said 10 other firetrucks fielded by volunteer firefighting groups arrived.
Muntinlupa firefighters declared a fire-out at 1:26 p.m.
