Police hunting down motorist in Makati shooting

Police are now hunting down a motorist who shot and killed a teenager and wounded another in Makati City shortly after midnight last Tuesday.
The fatality, identified as Christopher Miranda, 17, and his companion, identified as John David Galvez, 20, both of Barangay Olympia, were shot by for their drunken antics along Kalayaan Avenue.
Miranda died while being rushed to a hospital while Galvez was treated for a bullet wound in the left foot.
Senior Inspector Gary Reyes, chief of the Makati City Police Departments homicide section, said the incident happened at around 1:45 a.m.
The victims, an initial investigation revealed, were under the influence of alcohol and were playfully flagging down vehicles along Kalayaan Avenue.
Two men in one of the vehicles they tried to flagged down got irked by their behavior and confronted the drunken duo. One of the men then shot both of them using a handgun.
The suspects fled after the shooting. Police have yet to establish the make and license plate of their car.
Reyes said nine empty shells and three bullets from a caliber .45 pistol were recovered from the crime scene by responding policemen.
