Woman leaps to death from Makati condo

A 20-year-old woman jumped to her death from the 8th floor of a condo building in Makati City after a reported quarrel with her lover early yesterday .

Police identified the fatality as Angelique Manansala, a resident of the Ferrios Bel Air Tower Condominium along Polares street in Barangay Bel-Air.

She jumped from the window of the condo unit after an argument with Erica Tolentino at around 5:10 a.m.

Reports said the two had just arrived at their rented unit when they started quarreling.

Tolentino, not wanting to argue further, went to bed to lie down not knowing that Manansala was going to commit suicide.

Manansala landed on a narrow opening in between the condominium building and another establishment, making it difficult for rescue teams to recover the body.

Police Officer 2 Herman Panabang said investigators are looking at the suicide angle, but are not discounting other possibilities.

PO2 Jason David, of the Makati City Police Department’s homicide division, has been tasked to lead the investigation. — Michael Punongbayan
