Fake Wilson sports products seized

-
Officials of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) led by Senior Inspector Pedro Velasco raided last Wednesday two stores selling fake Wilson sporting products in Quiapo, Manila

Armed with a search warrant issued by Judge Antonio Eugenio, of the NCR-TRC Branch 24, Velasco’s team which include PO3 Bernardo Dumanon, together with Wilson Philippines sales manager Gerardo Tan went to Matt’s Sporting Haaus owned by See Mimi Ting and Uno Sporting Goods owned by Ting Herbert Chui and found both stores in possession of counterfeit Wilson tennis and badminton rackets and strings, baseballs and softballs.

Tan expressed optimism that the raids would discourage other stores from selling fake products.

At the same time, he also called on consumers to buy only from authorized dealers.
