4 robbery suspects nabbed in Valenzuela

Four armed men riding tandem on two motorcycles were nabbed by police when they strayed into a routine checkpoint shortly after divesting an Indian national of his daily collection last Thursday afternoon in Valenzuela City.

Superintendent Billy Beltran, city police chief, identified the suspects as Danny Senosin, 34, alleged confidential agent of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG), and a native of Naga City; Ernesto Espinosa, 34, a native of San Isidro, Nueva Ecija; Rolando Asuncion, 28, driver; and Enrique Bayot, 28, driver, both residents of Novaliches, Quezon City.

Victim Romy Singh alias "Roming Bombay" reported the incident to the nearest police block.

At the city police station, at least three victim-complainants — one divested of his employees’ payroll, a junkshop owner and a minimart owner — appeared and positively identified at least two of the suspects as their attackers.

Recovered from the suspects were two caliber .45 pistols with eight bullets each, a blue Yamaha STX 125 (UO-6439) and a red Honda XLR (UB-3685), both getaway vehicles.

Beltran said the suspects struck a few hours after a separate group of robbers also waylaid another Indian national in Pasig City that same day.

SPO2 Jess Sagisi, officer-on-case, reported that at around 1 p.m. last Thursday, as Singh stood in front of a client’s house along Sampaloc street in Barangay Ugong, Valenzuela City, the suspects demanded his collections at gunpoint before speeding away.

Alert motorcycle cops PO2 Abraham Bernales and PO1 Sherwin Fajardo, on a routine checkpoint, spotted the suspects in Sitio Tatalon and ordered them to stop. Instead of heeding the order, the suspects sped off and a hot pursuit ensued.

The suspects were later cornered and arrested at the Valenzuela-Quezon City boundary.
