Two hurt by stray bullets in Camanava

Trigger-happy gunowners are now being hunted by police after stray bullets hit an elementary school pupil and a man on a tricycle yesterday in Valenzuela and Navotas, respectively.

SPO1 Richie Garcia said Jim Paolo Chan, 9, of Canumay West, Valenzuela was studying in their living room when he heard something pop from the roof.

He then felt a sudden pain and saw his left hand oozing with blood.

His parents, Reynaldo and Lenita rushed him to the Valenzuela General Hospital for treatment.

A bullet from a caliber .45 pistol was recovered by the victim’s father and surrendered it to the police for ballistics test.

In Navotas, gas supervisor Mamo Nato, 42, of North Bay Boulevard South (NBBS), Navotas was on his way home riding his tricycle when he felt a nudge on his right arm.

When he looked at it, blood was flowing.

PO2 Nicanor Zablan III, officer-on-case, said Nato asked to be taken to the Tondo Medical Center for treatment.

He was later transferred to the National Orthopedic Hospital (NOH) after doctors suspected a broken arm caused by a stray bullet. – Jerry Botial
