The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) revived the hunt for eight former officers of the defunct Police Anti-Organized Crime Task Force (PAOCTF) and one civilian, who were implicated in the double murder case of publicist Salvador "Bubby" Dacer and his driver Emmanuel Corbito, after they received copies of the warrants for their arrest.
NBI-Special Task Force (STF) Regional Director Reynaldo Esmeralda said officer-in-charge Nestor Mantaring assigned his division and the Special Action Unit (SAU) under Assistant Regional Director Vicente de Guzman III to locate the whereabouts of the nine fugitives and serve the warrants.
Esmeralda said they received copies of the warrants, including those against former Senior Superintendents Cesar Mancao and Michael Ray Aquino, at around 2 p.m. the other day from the office of Judge Myra Garcia-Fernandez, of Branch 18 of the Manila City Regional Trial Court (MCRTC).
In the warrants issued last April 28, the court indicated that Mancao could be summoned at his condominium in Camp Crame, while Aquinos last known address was at Unit 2C, no. 52 Rosewood Mansion, Horseshoe, Quezon City.
Except for Mancao and Aquino who were recently reported to be in the United States, Esmeralda said they have no idea as to the whereabouts of the seven other alleged murder suspects. Evelyn Macairan
