Publishing company robbed in Valenzuela

-
Four unidentified gunmen barged into the offices of a publishing company and fled with the company’s earnings and its employees’ cash and valuables amounting to over P300,000 on Tuesday afternoon in Valenzuela City.

Superintendent Billy Beltran, city police chief, identified the victim as Pigeon Publishing Corp. (PPC), which holds office at 273 De Guzman St., Barangay Parada, Valenzuela City.

PPC prints the daily metro tabloid Tiktik owned by Lorenzo Banag.

SPO2 Jess Sagisi, officer-on-case, said the four suspects were armed with caliber .45 pistols and caliber .38 revolvers.

Sagisi said that while PPC cashier Mylanie Banag and employees Karen Banag and Marlyn Pamintuan were counting the company’s earnings for the past two days, the suspects allegedly barged in at around 1:15 p.m. and at gunpoint took the cash and the employees’ cash and belongings.

Mylanie was hit with a gunbutt on the forehead after she refused to give the cash to the robbers.

Other PPC employees Remedios Em, Cecilio Em, Carlo Mandap and Ruben Muyot were also reportedly robbed.

After divesting them of their belongings, the suspects allegedly herded them to the toilet and threatened to kill them.

The suspects then fled on board a white Toyota car with control number 292 or 262.

The robbery was reported at around 1:24 p.m. to the police, which immediately responded but the suspects eluded arrest.

A follow-up operation has been launched against the suspects. – Jerry Botial
