Two power thieves nabbed in Valenzuela

Two men were caught in the act illegally tapping a Meralco line last Tuesday night in Valenzuela City.
Superintendent Billy Beltran, city police chief, identified the suspects as Ronaldo Arcelao, 19, a native of Zambales and resident of Alley 3, Barangay Palasan, Valenzuela City and Raul Rebito, 42, a native of Bacolod City and resident of J. de los Reyes street, Panghulo, Obando, Bulacan.
A team headed by Dennis Sanchez of the Meralco North Distributing Metering Office and resident of Barangay Sta. Rita, Quiguinto, Bulacan, struck at 6 p.m. Tuesday night at the Polo Public Cemetery in Barangay Palasan.
The lawmen confiscated a kitchen knife, two electrical tapes, an improvised ladder and 100 meters of electrical wire, all of which were turned over to the Station Investigation Unit (SIU).
The suspects were charged for violating Section 2 of Republic Act 7832 or the Anti-Electricity Pilferage Act.
