Agents of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) have apprehended two suspected drug peddlers who allegedly supply shabu to students of a school in Makati City.
NBI Interpol Division chief Head Agent Claro de Castro Jr. said they nabbed Harbor Boyd Plarizan, 26, of Barangay Bangkal, Makati City and Roxanne Reyes Hunter, 21, of Barangay Sta. Cruz, Makati City.
De Castro said that despite the foreign sounding names of the suspects, they are both Filipino citizens.
He said they set up a buy-bust after a concerned parent reported that for a long time Plarizan had been selling the prohibited drug shabu in Makati.
In a statement, the NBI said Plarizan was responsible for the proliferation of shabu in Bangkal and many of his clients were students of a computer school.
They conducted a surveillance and they arranged an entrapment operation against Plarizan on Gen. Luna street.
Agents caught him in possession of P2,000 worth of shabu and a test tube with shabu residue. During the investigation, he identified his alleged supplier as a certain Lizette Reyes.
They conducted a follow up investigation, but Reyes eluded arrest. The NBI Interpol, however, was able to find her niece. Hunter was caught in possession of a sachet of shabu.
They were brought before Makati City Assistant City Prosecutor Amador Pineda for violating provisions of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
