Senior Fire Officer 1 Douglas Modomo, arson investigator, identified the fatality as Ginna Dehomo, who lived in one of the houses destroyed by the blaze at the PNR Site in Barangay Western Bicutan at around 12:43 a.m.
Modomo said Dehomo could not run fast enough through the narrow passageways of the house. Dehomo’s charred body was recovered after the fire was contained at around 2 a.m.
The fire, which reached the fifth alarm, displaced some 44 squatter families living in the area.
Four firetrucks from the Taguig Fire Station and 11 from nearby cities and municipalities were sent to the area.
The cause of the fire is still unknown.
