Edgardo Geronimo, radio operator of the Southern Metro Traffic Office, said the build-up started at around 7 a.m.
Around 10:30 a.m., only one lane of the northbound section of the SLEX was passable. There were no advisories for alternate routes since traffic was also heavy on Coastal and C-5 roads.
Geronimo noted that two vehicles rammed concrete barriers near the Nichols Interchange at 8 a.m. due to the ongoing road repair.
No one was reported hurt in the incident, but contributed to the slowing down of traffic in the area.
Edwin Almario of the Southern Traffic Enforcement District said traffic slowly went back to normal around 12:30 p.m.
