Trucking firm employee stabbed dead in Caloocan

A 20-year-old employee of a trucking firm was stabbed dead by three unidentified suspects yesterday in Caloocan City.

Melchor Emutani, an employee of the Rainbow Trucking Co. on C-4 Road, Dagat-Dagatan, Caloocan City, was declared dead on arrival at the Pagamutang Bayan ng Malabon (PBM) due to multiple stab wounds in the body.

Emutani was drinking with his friends at an eatery on Sinilyasi st. corner C-4 Road, Barangay 8 in Dagat-Dagatan, when he decided to leave at around 5:20 a.m.

But as he stood up, three men armed with bladed weapons attacked him from behind and took turns in stabbing the victim. The suspects immediately fled when Emutani fell.

The victim’s surprised companions failed to assist him. They rushed him to the PBM for treatment but he was pronounced dead on arrival.

In Malabon City Friday, police arrested two teenagers for carrying firearms inside the Star J Plaza shopping mall.

Senior Superintendent Moises "Kamagong" Guevarra, Malabon police chief, said they seized a Remington .380 revolver, and a caliber .38 pistol from the suspects.

Star J lady guard Sheryl Rose Simon, 20, of Strike Force Alpha security agency, apprehended the suspects, both 16, at around 6:07 p.m.

The lady guard then called the police for assistance.

The boys, who entered the mall one after other, were charged for illegal possession of firearms and ammunition. — Pete Laude
