NBI agent Joseph Furing of the Intellectual Property Rights Division, said they confiscated over 7,000 pieces of underwear bearing fake trademarks of the popular apparel brand.
Furing said the fake products were seized in warehouses reportedly registered under 1181 Marketing owned byGeorge Tan and Ruby Torres, which holds office at the VAS Building compound and Sunnyline Building in Pasay City and Concorde Village and San Martin De Porres in Parañaque City.
In his report, the NBI agent said the series of operations was conducted through a search warrant issued by Manila Regional Trial Court Branch 24 Judge Antonio Eugenio Jr. based on the complaint of Nautica Enterprises Inc.
Furing said charges for violation of R.A. 8293 or the Anti-Trademark Infringement Law, are being readied against the owners of the warehouses.
