Hold order vs Jaylo out
January 14, 2006 | 12:00am
A Manila court has started sending copies of the hold departure order (HDO) against retired police Captain Reynaldo Jaylo to the Bureau of Immigration (BI) and the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) to prevent him from leaving the country.
Judge Nina Antonio-Valenzuela, of Manila City Regional Trial Court (MCRTC) Branch 28, released a two-page HDO last Thursday. It was sent to the BI and DFA at noon yesterday.
Valenzuela issued a warrant of arrest against Jaylo, who headed the defunct Presidential Anti-Illegal Recruitment Task Force (PAIRTF) two weeks ago.
Regional Director Reynaldo Esmeralda, of the National Bureau of Investigation-Special Task Force (NBI-STF) said the HDO was necessary to prevent Jaylo from fleeing.
He is verifying information that the former PAIRTF chief is hiding in the outskirts of Metro Manila.
The NBI-STF chief also contacted friends who know Jaylo and asked them to intercede. Among those contacted was Go Teng Kok, who heads the Philippine Amateur Track and Field Association. Evelyn Macairan
