Ospital ng Makati ready for the New Year revelry

-
Makati City’s busiest government hospital yesterday announced that it is ready to respond to medical emergencies especially firecracker accidents during the New Year’s eve celebration.

Dr. Julius Drilon, medical director of the city-run Ospital ng Makati (Osmak), said such measures are now in place at the Osmak in Barangay Pembo as well as its free-standing emergency unit in Bel-Air, which is also known as the Acute Care Center (ACC).

He said the Emergency Department of both facilities will be adequately staffed and equipped round-the-clock to accommodate any sudden influx of emergency cases arising from firecracker-related accidents, especially on New Year’s eve, without disrupting their services to the usual critical, acute, and primary care patients.

Drilon said six residents of the different clinical departments have been assigned to man the ED, with three interns and three nurses assisting them per shift. Both facilities have also stocked up on all medical supplies needed for the treatment of blast injuries. — Michael Punongbayan
