Wish granted: Cops get computer for Christmas

- Pete Laude -
It was a Christmas wish come true for Malabon City policemen, who had desperately wanted an upgrade of facilities at the station where they worked.

"Our Christmas wish was granted," an officer at the Malabon City Police Station Investigation Branch said.

A few days ago, Malabon police investigators complained about the lack of basic equipment such as computers or even working typewriter. The lack of equipment made processing of papers difficult, they said.

Last Dec. 22, The STAR published the story on the cops’ grievances. The following day, the got more than what they wished for.

"Mayroon na kaming isang computer at isa pang
typewriter," said the officer.

Asked who played St. Nick, the officer said that it was newly promoted city police chief Senior Superintendent Moises "Kamagong" Guevarra, who donated the computer and it was Inspector George Tabayag, their chief investigator, who gave another typewriter.

"Now that we have the basic equipment, we can assure residents seeking our help, that paper work would now be faster," the officer added.
