"Santa cops" came to Parañaque City yesterday not to distribute goodies, but to arrest a misbehaving businessman, who was caught with several firearms inside a KTV bar.
Senior Police Officer 1 Eddie Romero of the Parañaque Police Community Precinct 5, led a team of officers, in arresting Robert Francis Diaz, 46, of Doña Rosario Heights, Muntinlupa City.
Parañaque police chief Superintendent Ronald Estilles said that around 4:30 a.m., Diaz was engaged in a drinking session with a friend inside the Encantadia Bar located along Sucat Highway in Barangay San Antonio, when he started showing off his three firearms.
Bar employees said the suspect had too much to drink and started to misbehave. Diaz was armed with a caliber .45 pistol, a 9 mm Browning pistol and a caliber .38 Taurus Brazil revolver.
The waiters called the police and reported the armed and unruly patron.
When interrogated by the police, the suspect claimed he had several guns in his possession because collecting firearms was his hobby.
Diaz said he brings all of them for protection after he received several death threats.
Charges of illegal possession of firearms are now being readied against Diaz, who is now detained at the Parañaque City Jail.
