The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), in cooperation with the office of Caloocan City Rep. Luis "Baby" Asistio, launched the other day a five-day training workshop on reflexology, intended primarily for residents in depressed barangays.
The launching of the livelihood workshop, part of Asistios pro-poor Serbisyong Panghabambuhay project, was graced by the congressman with local TESDA head Dr. Amancio Villamejor Jr., TESDA supervising specialist Asuncion Ordona, and Kaloocan Assistance Council Inc. (KACI) president Cenon Mayor.
At least 40 participants from different barangays in the city, including volunteers from the Baby Asistio at Work Brigade, enrolled in the reflexology training seminar that will end on Dec. 23, Mayor said.
Those completing the workshop would be assigned to different depressed barangays in Caloocans second district and will serve as trainors for residents interested in learning basic reflexology skills.
"Participants will certainly benefit from the skills training for once they learn it will be a life-long occupation," Mayor said.
He urged residents to avail of the free livelihood training program, which "will surely help augment their income."
Mayor, Asistios project coordinator, and Neri Abrigo, from the congressmans office, are tasked to supervise the project and ensure its success.
The TESDA skills training workshop launch was held at the KACI office on Torres Bugallon street in Caloocan City.
