LTO chief Assistant Secretary Anneli Lontoc said an auction for vanity license plates is held annually to generate additional revenues for the national government and to fund the agencys projects next year.
The onsite public bidding held by the LTO last Friday at its main office on East Avenue, Quezon City resulted in all 30 limited edition license plates being sold for P2,095,000.
The vanity license plates were offered at a floor price of P50,000 each with the highest bid for a single vanity license plate reaching P130,000.
Among those plates auctioned were the following: TTTT, UUUUUU, 666666, DDDDD, WWWW, RRRR, YYYYYY, 44444, 4444, 6666, BBBB, UUUUU, CCCC, FFFFFF, FFFF, PPPPP, TTTTTT, IIIIII, LLLLLL, NNNN, EEEE, HHHHHH, 44444, PPPPPP, PPPP, YYYY, ZZZZ, DDDDDD, 55555, and DDDD.
The said vanity license plates are exempted from the governments unified vehicular volume reduction program (UVVRP), or number coding scheme. Sandy Araneta
