Querol said the additional manpower is expected to boost the police visibility and crime prevention thrust of the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO), particularly in crime-prone areas in Metro Manila.
The recruits, composed of 299 males and 51 females, were appointed to the initial ranks of Police Officer 1 and will be receiving monthly gross salary and allowances totalling P12,155.
According to Querol, the recruits will first undergo the 180-day Public Safety Basic Recruit Course (PSBRC) at the Police National Training Institute, National Capital Region Training School in Camp Bagong Diwa, Bicutan, Taguig City before returning to the NCRPO for re-assignment to various police units in Metro Manila.
The course involves training on basic police administration, police skills, crime scene investigation, and community-oriented policing system.
Instruction on Human Rights, the Rules on Criminal on Procedures, Rules on Evidence, the Revised Penal Code, special laws and jurisprudence are also included in the curriculum.
At present, there are 14,686 uniformed personnel in the entire NCRPO who are performing regular police duty at the regional headquarters, the five police districts and the 37 police stations in Metro Manila. Non Alquitran
