Ospital ng Maynila director Christia Padolina told Manila Mayor Lito Atienza in a report that the Conducive Practice Program for Surgical Residents of the Department of Surgery chaired by Dr. Reynaldo Joson was a runner-up in the Best Workplace Practices category of the annual Asian CSR Awards.
The departments Conducive Practice Program for surgical residents at the Ospital ng Maynila was set up in 2001.
Since its implementation, much improved surgical residents welfare and patient-care services were realized. Among the accomplishments of the program are the full accreditation of the departments training program by the Philippine Society of General Surgeons, much higher passing percentages in various medical examinations, significant drop in the average number of clients complaints, more acceptable mortality and morbidity rate at less than five percent and recovery rate at more than 90 percent, and more than 90 percent achievement of the annual performance targets related to patient care.
