Delivery truck hit by bus, spills fish on EDSA

- Perseus Echeminada -
Tons of fresh bangus and tilapia were scattered on the northbound lane of EDSA near the Santolan flyover in Quezon City after a delivery vehicle collided with a speeding bus before dawn yesterday.

Police said the truck was on its way to the Farmers Market in Cubao when it was hit by a public utility bus, causing it to overturn and spilled four tons of fish on the road.

Robert Mayuga, driver of the six-wheeler truck, said his vehicle hit the railing at the approach to the Santolan flyover. The bus sped off after the collision.

SPO1 Nelson Apostol, the first traffic police officer to respond to the accident, truck driver said he failed to get the name of the company and plate number of the bus.

Metropolitan Manila Development Authority personnel later cleared the road of fish. The crates eventually reached their intended destination in Cubao.
