Food firm exec survives ambush

A vice president of a candy manufacturing company was shot and seriously wounded by four unidentified men the other day in Pasig City.
Pasig City police identified the victim as Fernando Sy, 59, the vice president of an unspecified food company, and resident of Valle Verde VI in Barangay Ugong, Pasig City.
Sy sustained a gunshot wound in the left side of his body and two more in the left leg. He is now being treated in the New Medical City in Pasig City.
The four suspects fled on board two motorcycles.
PO3 Ike Jimenez, of the Pasig City police, said the shooting took place at 12 noon last Friday in front of Sys office building on Brixton street in Barangay Kapitolyo, Pasig City.
SY had just parked his Toyota Camry when the gunmen arrived on two motorcycles.
As Sy stepped out of his vehicle, the four suspects opened fire.
