The National Capital Regional Police Office (NCRPO) arrested two robbers preying on commuters along C-5 Road and a drug convict during an intensified anti-crime operation over the weekend in Makati City and Pasay City.
Those arrested were identified as Dario Hallera, 23, of 630 Punay St., Barangay Rizal, Makati City; Christopher Arcinal, 31, of Palar Village Western Bicutan, Taguig City and Perlita Nueda, 33, pf 2278 Tramo St., Barangay 57, Pasay City.
Superintendent Sotero Ramos, head of the NCRPOs Regional Intelligence and Special Operations Office (RISOO) said that first to be arrested were Hallera and Arcinal. Hallera and Arcinal were waiting for their would-be victims along C-5 Service Road Saturday when spotted by Ramos men who are on surveillance operations against criminals preying on unsuspecting commuters.
A RISOO team headed by Senior Inspector Eduard Chan were about to accost the duo when they ran toward different directions.
A brief chase ensued and Hallera and Arcinal were cornered. They gave themselves up peacefully. The suspects yielded two caliber .38 revolvers with nine live ammunitions. Ramos said at least five complainants showed uo later at the RISOO headquarters in Camp Bagong Diwa in Taguig City and positively identified Hallera and Arcinal as among those who held them up inside passenger jeepneys on separate occasions in the past. Meanwhile, Nueda was arrested Saturday in the corner of Tramo and Macopa Streets in Pasay City on the strength of an arrest warrant issued by Judge Eleuterio Guerrero, of Branch 168 of the Citys Regional Trial Court (RTC).
Last Aug. 4, Judge Guerrero sentenced Nueda to 12 years of imprisonment and also to pay the government fines amounting to P300,000.
Records showed that Nueda was arrested by Pasay City policemen October last year for possession of a gram of shabu. She managed to post bail.
Nueda was not present when Guerrero handed down his decision. Ramos ordered the filing of robbery charges against Hallera and Arcinal before the Makati City prosecutors office while Nueda was turned over to the Pasay City RTC. Non Alquitran
