2 Australian nationals abducted

Five men, claiming to be agents of the Presidential Anti-Illegal Recruitment Task Force, abducted two Australian nationals and a Filipino inside their house in Quezon City early yesterday, according to police.

Camp Crame reports said one Australian was 21 years old while the other was 15. Their Filipino companion was 31.

Initially, the abduction was reported to Police Station 10 of the Quezon City Police District (QCPD), which forwarded the matter to the Operations Center of the Philippine National Police at Camp Crame.

The Quezon City police could not ascertain whether the incident was an abduction or an arrest.At gunpoint, the three men were forcibly dragged out of their house in Barangay Laging Handa, Quezon City.

The housemaid reported the incident to authorities.

She claimed that the suspects arrived at the apartment at around 12:45 a.m., introducing themselves as members of Task Force Hunter of the anti-illegal recruitment unit.

The suspects herded the victims into their waiting vehicles, a blue Toyota Corolla (XML-198) and a red Mitsubishi Lancer (VCP-985).

Task Force Hunter chief Reynaldo Jaylo could not be reached for comment on the incident.
