Appointed ambassador to Rome reveals extort try

Former congresswoman and Guimaras Governor Emily Lopez, who was recently appointed as Ambassador to Rome, has revealed extortion attempts by parties opposed to her gaining the ambassadorship.
Lopez has been receiving phone calls from an unknown source using a pre-paid number, asking for P2 million or they will release false information that will be harmful to her.
Her appointment is due for finalization upon approval at the Commission on Appointments.
"We have been prepared for this because of the calls that I have been receiving in my cell phone. I am not one to bow to this kind of extortion and I have duly informed the National Bureau of Investigation and Director Reynaldo Wycoco regarding this harassment and threatening activity," Lopez said of the phone calls.
The caller who said they would expose lies about her and her moral stature if not given the money was something the ambassador had expected, being aware there are certain individuals who are opposed to her gaining the ambassadorship for personal and vindictive rea
