Operatives of the Makati Police Department (MPD) are now hunting down two still unidentified gunmen who shot and killed a civilian agent of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in Makati City Thursday night.
The victim, identified as Rommel Montano of Barangay Bangkal, was killed right in front of his house at 10:30 p.m.
He suffered two gunshot wounds in the head.
Reports from the MPD-Homicide Division said the incident happened while the victim was standing in front of his house.
The suspects approached the PDEA asset and shot him at close range.
MPD-Homicide Division chief Senior Inspector Gary Reyes said his men are now investigating the killing and are hunting down the suspects.
Investigators said the incident may have something to do with the victims links with PDEA.
Probers are collecting more information with the help of witnesses and neighbors in the hope of finding a lead.
The victims will have to undergo autopsy at the Philippine National Police (PNP) crime laboratory in Camp Crame to determine the type of gun used to kill him.
The MPD is expected to coordinate with PDEA to verify if the victim was indeed a civilian agent or informant and determine what cases he was working on.
