Tomorrows mega job fair at the City Hall Quadrangle is expected to result in the substantial reduction of unemployment rate in Makati City as well as neighboring localities.
The job fair, which will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., was organized by the Makati Public Employment Services Office (PESO) in line with the month-long celebration of Makati Citys 335th foundation day. At least 50 companies are expected to participate in the event.
Mayor Jejomar Binay said the activity, which precedes Makatis foundation anniversary on June 1, is part of the city governments way of providing employment opportunities to Makati residents and even to non-residents who want to work in the city.
He added that job seekers aged 40 and above, and even people who are deaf and mute, are welcome to join the job hunt.
"I hope that all job seekers, especially our residents, will participate and take advantage of this opportunity," Binay said.
Binay acknowledged the support and cooperation of the 50 companies and agencies that have confirmed participation in the event organized by the Makati PESO in coordination with the office of Councilor Junjun Binay.
"The active participation of the business sector in the past years has been crucial to the success of our efforts to help jobless residents and non-residents find gainful employment," Binay said. Michael Punongbayan
