Shabu peddler nabbed in Malabon

The Civilian Volunteers Against Crime (CVAC) and the Malabon Police’s anti-illegal drugs operatives nabbed a 30-year-old man residing in Navotas while selling shabu shortly after lunch Monday in Malabon City.

Jojo Pilapil, 30, single, of Barangay Daang Hari in Navotas was nabbed for selling shabu, also found in his possession when frisked later were 17 sachets of the prohibited drug.

PO2 Allan Angeles, officer on case, said Pilapil was for a long time already being hunted for his drug trafficking activities.

In a sworn statement, Rodolfo Lacao of CVAC said an informant told them about a number of male persons exchanging cash for drugs Monday along Letre Road in Paradise Village in Barangay Tonsuya, Malabon City.

Lacao said they then conducted a routine patrol and at around 12:15 p.m., they caught a man, later identified as Pilapil, in the act of "scrutinizing," in their presence, a sachet of shabu.

Lacao said they introduced themselves and accosted Pilapil who held the sachet in his hand. When frisked, Pilapil yielded 16 more sachets in his wallet inside his pocket.
