Traffic cop comes to the rescue

An alert traffic officer, who came to the rescue of a woman victimized by a cell phone snatcher, arrested the culprit in Malabon City the other day.
Suspect Lennon Ramos, 23, a resident of Barangay San Agustin, Malabon was apprehended by traffic officer Joel Roncales.
Roncales was manning traffic along J. P. Rizal Extension in Barangay Taniong at around 11:30 a.m. when he heard a woman inside a passenger jeepney shouting for help.
Mary Kristine Flores, 27, a dentist, was onboard a jeepney when the suspect appeared from nowhere and grabbed her mobile phone.
Roncales immediately ran after the robber and cornered him after a brief chase.
He recovered the mobile phone.
City police chief Superintendent Moises Guevarra ordered the filing of charges against the suspect with the Malabon City prosecutors office. Pete Laude
