PNP officials promoted

Malacañang has approved the promotion of Gen. Isidro Lapena, Philippine National Police (PNP) Director for Operations, to a two-star general with the rank of director.
Aside from Lapena, the Palace also released the promotion of six other one-star generals.
PNP chief Director General Arturo Lomibao administered yesterday the oath of office to Lapena, who holds one of 10 Directorial Staff positions in the PNP that oversees the day-to-day operations of all regional police offices and national support units nationwide.
After Lapena, it was the turn of the six other newly promoted generals. They were Chief Superintendent Arturo Cacdac, chief of the Firearms and Explosives Division (FED); Chief Superintendent Charlemagne Alejandrino, deputy director for Investigation and Detective Management (DIDM); Chief Superintendent Antonio Nanas, chief of the Security Agencies and Guards Supervision Division (SAGSD); Chief Superintendent Leonardo Dionisio, deputy director for Research and Development (DRD); Chief Superintendent Fernando Pace, executive officer of the Directorate for Police Community Relations (DPCR); and Chief Superintendent George Piano, executive officer of the Directorate for Comptrollership.
