LTFRB launches express fare matrix

The Land Transportation, Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) yesterday launched the "Express Delivery Service" in order to reduce hassles associated with acquiring the new fare matrix for operators and drivers of public utility vehicles

Through the new service, the agency comes right at their doorsteps for the payment and shipment of the new fare matrix.

During a media forum held at the Ciudad Fernandina in San Juan, LTFRB Chairwoman Elena Bautista said that instead of queuing at the LTFRB offices, operators and drivers now have an option to simply call the express delivery hotline at 898-7845, from 8 a.m., to 5 p.m., and have their documents picked up from their homes and have their payments made through authorized representatives as well.

"What we need is a copy of the franchise and the OR/CR (Official Receipt/Certificate of Registration), as well as the payment. The messengers will bring all of these so that the operators need not go to the LTFRB office," Bautista said.

She said drivers and operators could have their fare matrix within seven working days, delivered straight to their homes.

"There is no need to fall in line under the heat of the sun," she added.

The fees for the express delivery varies.

If within the area where the offices are located, an operator would be charged just P99 for delivery on top of the P560 fee for the fare matrix. If outside the area, they would be charged an additional P500 on top of the P560.

The LTFRB recently granted a P2 increase for public utility jeepneys and non-aircon buses to take effect on May 26. PUVs are expected to display the new fare matrix inside the vehicles.
